Submitted by anne miller on Mon, 20/05/2013 - 07:08
Doug Crawford-Brown is Director of the Cambridge Centre for Climate Change Mitigation Research (4CMR) and founder of Cambridge Retrofit. His research interests include risk assessment and the secondary health benefits of reducing in Carbon Emissions. His work has included developing climate change policies, strategies and action plans for nation states ranging from Cambridge UK to Abu Dhabi, advising governments and businesses in the US, UK, Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Thailand, Abu Dhabi, Mexico and France
In what I’m sure will be a fascinating evening with one of Cambridge’s leading experts on climate change mitigation, Doug will share his assessment of the local risks of climate change and some unexpected benefits of action, before giving us an overview of Cambridge Retrofit and their 12 inaugural major projects to reduce carbon emissions from Cambridge's built environment. These projects range from social housing to the University Library and RBS. He will then be very interested to discuss with us how to grow and spread this initiative.
As usual in Green-enterprise events, the evening will be participative and will include plenty of time for discussion with the speaker and other participants. Cost £5
